Donations can be made online, through the mail, dropped off at James House to be sent through the program, or through donor advised funds at Community Foundation for a greater Richmond.
Birdies for Charity presented by TowneBank enables Richmond-area charities to use the Dominion Energy Charity Classic tournament as a fundraising platform. The program is designed to give charities an opportunity to generate contributions through flat donations.
If you are an annual donor of James House, please consider making your donation count even more and donating through our Birdies for Charity link HERE.
A one-time flat donation is the sole donation method for this year’s program, with a minimum donation of $25.
In addition to your donation or pledged donation, an additional 10 % bonus will be given to James House on donations made through Birdies for Charity.
To donate online, go HERE and enter the donation amount, fill out the billing information form, and then you will receive a confirmation email from PGA TOUR Charities that will serve as receipt for tax-deduction purposes.

To donate through donor advised funds at Community Foundation for a greater Richmond, log into your Donor Connect portal. Select PGA TOUR Charities Inc. for your grant recommendation. Designate James House in the grant purpose section. Follow the prompts to complete the request. Community Foundation for a greater Richmond will complete the request by mailing the donation check and grant memorandum to the Dominion Energy Charity Classic office.

Third Annual Benefit Cook Off Competition
We are partnering with Colonial Harley-Davidson for the third annual benefit cook off competition that coincides with Fall Open House. Teaming together to support local survivors of interpersonal violence, we host a friendly and delicious competition, fun day of music, friends, food, refreshments and prizes!
Professional and amateur grillers will compete to win the Judge’s Overall Best Award, Best BBQ Foods, Best Brisket, and the People’s Choice Award.
Guests will use tasting tickets to sample all of the competitors’ foods, then vote in the People’s Choice Award. The Midnight Smoker BBQ Company was selected as the 2017 winner and Mambo Burger was selected as the 2018 winner of the Colonial Harley-Davidson People’s Choice Award.
Firehouse BBQ was named as the 2017 and OG Ribs and BBQ was named as the 2018 Colonial Harley-Davidson Judges’ Choice Award Winner. This year it might be your team!

On Colonial Harley-Davidson’s outdoor stage, we will have long-time James House friend, domestic violence supporter, modern country band Anderson Highway.
James House depends on our annual fall fundraiser and 50/50 raffle to support the programs and services that we offer to women, men, and children affected by sexual violence, domestic violence and stalking. We helped 911 women and 265 men last year, providing safe shelter, life saving services and resources, and helping them to learn about healthy relationships. We greatly appreciate your support of our events.
In the last two years, over 150 volunteers helped us with Hogs for the House. We are in need of volunteers to help out at the event in a diversity of categories. We can use individuals, families, school groups, civic groups, teams, students needing service hours, work places, and more. To register to volunteer, go HERE.

Support survivors of domestic/sexual violence in our community by participating in James House’s fall fundraiser 50/50 raffle. Purchase a $10 raffle ticket and enter to win, half for you and half for the house (James House!).
The winner will be drawn at the Hogs for the House Benefit Cook Off Competition November 10. Each online ticket will be assigned a raffle number in numerical, chronological order. At the event, volunteers will put a numbered ball matching each raffle ticket number sold into the bingo ball hopper and a volunteer will draw the winner at 3:40pm during the event awards ceremony.
